Monday Funday 4/27/09

This "telephone" toy is one of my favorite things at the park. We sang "row, row, row your boat" to each other using this toy.
We had a relaxing morning at home (for a little while). I watched a new episode of Sesame Street called "USS Terrific", which was all about boats. Of course, I asked mommy for a boat, so she let me play with one from my bathtub.

We stopped by the playground on the way to the gym and it was very cool and quiet. we had a lot of fun. I am really getting good at climbing ladders!

Today, I went down the really tall tube slide without any coaxing or help from mommy. It was fun! I went twice - once on the yellow slide and once on the blue one.

Mom was taking pictures of me in the flowers, but all of the sudden I picked one! I guess because I have the same kind of flowers in my own yard (and I picked them and played with them with Grandma one time) I thought it would be okay to pick them here. OOPS! That's ok, we made up for it by picking up a lot of trash that was at the park and throwing it in the garbage can. (See earlier picture)

The park is really a lot of fun in the morning. This is mom's favorite picture of the day. This new camera is difficult to figure out, but it sure takes some GREAT pictures! Of course, it helps mom out quite a bit that I'm so cute.

Ms. Joy taught us how to do monkey jumps on the elevated mat today, I couldn't hardly wait my turn to try it!

Airplane arms! What's that you say? Little gym is open - let's move, Mom!

I like to make some monkey sounds when I swing on these hoops/this bar.

By far, the best part of the gym today was that I got to see 2 babies! Mom says they are called "twins" and said something about being glad there is only one of me. I didn't remember it at first, but I got to touch the tummy where these little babies used to live. I was really quiet and just watched them and smiled. They were sleeping, so I didn't want to wake them up.

A Few Easter Memories . . .

Here is the Easter basket Grandma made for me. It's full of bubbles, sidewalk chalk eggs, play jewelry and, of course, CANDY!
While Moatsie, Grandma and Mommy talked around the kitchen table after Easter dinner, I found a nice, messy way to entertain myself . . . . STAMPS! As you can see, I mostly put the ink on my fingers.

Instead of an Easter basket, Moatsie brought me a really neat baby carrier. I immediately put it to good use (see below).

Although it looks like I am frowning, I am actually very happy about the new play earrings that Grandma gave to me for Easter. They have BUNNIES on them!! I also got a bracelet and necklace to match!

I had such a good time finding eggs - both inside and outside the house. I did need a little help, but between Daddy, Mommy, Grandma and Grandpa I had all the help I needed.
Here we are "decorating" (a.k.a. "eating") the bunny cake mom made for Easter. Pink coconut, jellybeans, chocolate eggs - what more could a kid ask for?

Grandma read stories to me every night before bed while she was here. Tonight it was, "If You Give a Pig a Party".

I visited the Easter Bunny at the mall, but I was not very excited to sit in his lap. Mostly, I wanted to jump around and dance near him. I also enjoyed playing with the big eggs in the display, but the photographer at this little station was not very pleased with my curiosity.

"Hi Easter Bunny. Why aren't you saying anything? Do you always smile like that?"

Sea World with Elmo!

Today was Sea World! The biggest thing we wanted to see today was the Elmo and Abbey Caddabey's Treasure Hunt show, but we stopped to play and look at some things on our way to the theatre. I got to see some dolphins up close at the dolphin nursery. I also stopped to watch some geese.

I really wanted to climb over and see the geese, but mom said that might not be a good idea.

After watching the show, stopping to see the penguins and puffins, and splashing around a bit, we sat down to eat lunch near the big sandboxes. My favorite part of lunch was the "baby oranges" mom brought along.

Here I am splashing around at the splash pad. I didn't want to play "with" the other kids, but I liked watching them and playing around them. Mom brought some bubbles, too, and we had fun blowing and chasing bubbles.

I was so excited to see Elmo! When the show finally started, I just had to dance and scream a little bit. It was so much fun!

Missing My Daddy-Day. . . .

Our day started with a trip to Kid's Gym. I decided to make the tumble track a bit more exciting today by bringing a friend with me down the track. (See the green bean-bag frog on the track?) It was fun!
This is my new favorite way to walk on the parallel bars. I call it the "Monkey Crawl".

Miss Melissa helped me flip upside down on the bar. I didn't like that very much.

Finally, it was time for Bye Bye ball and stamps! Yay!
After "Hop Hop", we made our way to the library for storytime. I stopped to feed the rooster a few of my tiny goldfish crackers. He was very appreciative.

After storytime was over, a bunch of kids went behind the puppet stage and were playing with the puppets (unmonitored by parents!). Mom didn' t let me join in, but I got a kick out of watching the puppets "play" on their stage.

Today, I did the whole "3 Little Pigs" puzzle at the library all by myself!

After the library, mom decided to take me for a special lunch at my favorite place: Chick-fil-a. Here I am enjoying a delicious nugget. How about that? A Nugget eating a nugget!

Just paying around at the table with mommy . . . . waiting for my turn at face painting.

Hmmmmm . . . what kind of trouble can I get into now??
One of my favorite things at Chick-fil-a is the fresh flowers on all of the tabletops. Mom got a few pictures, then she had to put the camera down to prevent me from pulling out all the flowers and breaking the vases.
These are some pretty pictures. (The flowers are pretty nice, too)

Don't I justlook like I'm about to do something mischevious? (I probably am!)
I wanted face paint by Ms. Carolyn, but then I got scared. So, mommy had to go first and then I wasn't so scared. We both got flowers.
There were a lot of kids on the playground. I was both excited and scared to play "with" other kids. Mom watched me climb up to the slide, but I was hidden from her sight for a long time. Then, I finally made an appearance as the "caboose" in this "kid-train" that came down the slide. I was a bit shaken up after that, but not too bad. I wanted to go again!

Mom had to wake me up from my nap to go to swim lessons today. As always, I got a "pop" after I worked so hard at swim lessons. Yum!

Before my lesson starts, I like to watch the other kids swimming or getting ready for their lessons. Mrs. Tracy put this "Nani-size" chair out on the porch so kids my size could have a place to wait before their lessons. I like this chair!

After swim lessons, we came home and just played. The best game we played was "Mommy-let-me-spray-the-rubber-frogs". Mom should have taken video because I got a few really good giggles out of that game!

Then, while mom was on the phone with dad, I took a picture of myself! Explain THIS one to the guys at photomat, dad!

Hi Dad! Today we went to Chick-fil-a for "Toddler Time". It was a lot of fun! I wish you could have been with us, but I made Mom take lots of pictures to share with you! I love you!
I look like I am praying to the Chick-fil-a gods, don't I?
At the end of the morning, I had a balloon, a cow mask, 2 egg crafts, a book, and 2 colored flowers to take home with me! What a morning.

Here I am coloring some flowers with other friends. The baby next to me really liked touching my face, but I wasn't too crazy about that.

I picked a "green" egg to make for Grandma. I got to put foamy stickers and "zig zags" on it! Then, the craft helper put some glitter on it for me!

Even Mom got to have her picture taken with me!

They put on som Veggie Tales music and I just had to dance!
