Cute Pics of Dad and Me

Here's a few pictures of Daddy and me hanging out over the weekend. We went to the fall festival, played at a birthday party and then did our usual evening routine of snuggling up to watch Backyardigans on the couch. Lots of fun! I love my Daddy!

Storytime and Garage Sale Errands!

Mom was cleaning out the closet getting ready for a garage sale this weekend and look what she found hiding in a big, plastic bin! I was just takin' a nap in there (complete with pillow, blanket, and pacifier) and she found me!

We visited the Maitland Civic Center again this week for puppet and storytime. My favorite puppets today were the scruffy dog and the parrot. Of course, I had to play with the duck puppets again, too.

We sang a lot of songs this week including a Pumpkin Song to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle. I even got to play with a purple egg shaker! We also read pumpkin stories like "5 Little Pumpkins" and "Happy Pumpkin". I decided I'd rather go home than play at the park after storytime because it was too hot outside.

We got these pumpkin coloring cards, too. I took mine home and painted it for Grandma. We had paint leftover, so we played face paint and I pretended to be a cat. Then, I took a "cat bath" as I called it. Mom said it was a "real" bath.

Typical Day - Altamonte Mall

Before we left for the mall, I made sure that "Shrimpy" was safely in his car seat - also known as the driver's door handle.

I played on steps by bouncing onto each one and saying
"bouncy, bouncy" as I went.

To end the morning, I made 5 pennies-worth of wishes in the fountain and walked all around the outside edge like a balance beam. Lots of fun!

Here I am playing in the tunnel! There were lots of other "babies" at the indoor playground, which I actually enjoyed!

Maitland Story Time/ Lake Lily Park

Today we went to a "brand new library" (as I called it) to hear stories. Maitland Public Library does story time for the kids every Thursday morning. The library itself was closed due to a book sale today, so they held story time in the Maitland Civic Center. I got to play with lots of puppets (ducks, penguins, a "Nemo" fish and a monkey, too). My friend, Clara was there, too. We both like ducks (as you can see). I got a picture of a boat to color, too! (Don't I look soooo interested in the boat?)

After the story time was over, I walked with mommy to the park nextdoor. We saw ducks and ibises along the way, but I wasn't very interested in them. Maybe next time we'll bring some food for them. I also saw a very large snail shell along the way on the ground, but I lost it. It was really neat!

I really enjoyed the swing today! There were lots of things to climb and the park is nicely shaded with trees. Lots of fun with "babies" (my favorite phrase nowadays)!

Peek-a-boo, Mommy and Daddy! Have a good day!

Amaya Papaya

We got an early start this morning and headed to storytime at the library. We sang the "Choo Choo Train" song, watched a puppet show about the Lion and the Mouse (one of mom's favorite stories), and (of course) sang my favorite song . . . "Skin-a-mar-inky-dinky-doo" (or however you spell that song).

Then, after a long, long car ride (mom got a bit lost!) we arrived at a new place called Amaya Papaya. We met some friends and mommies from our church there and enjoyed a great playdate! All you kiddos out there who are younger than 5 should check it out and make your parents take you sometime! (It's a bit pricey, but we got a discount today through our church).

My favorite thing at Amaya Papaya was the dollhouse and the bunnies that went inside that dollhouse. Here I am finding a quiet corner to sing a lullaby to the baby bunny. Then, I headed back to the dollhouse to put him to sleep.

Before you say "awww, how sweet", I must tell you that I did not put him in the bed to sleep after all, I changed my mind and decided to cook him in the microwave. I did not mistake the microwave for the bed, either. Mommy heard me say, "I will cook the bunny". Yum.

The giant sandbox was another favorite thing. Dad would love it! You don't have to clean up the sand outside the box when you're done! It's full of "treasures" to discover, too.
I liked the bunny house so much I decided to put on one of the many costumes there and pretend to be a bunny myself. Then, for a short, short while I tried on the Little Mermaid costume. That got old really quick because the tail kept me from walking too far.

I loved the train table and even took one of the bunnies for a ride on the train. There were plenty of cars and lots of room to play trains.

I even had a good time pretending to be a baby in the infant and toddler zone. I laid under this little toy for quite a while playing "baby".

Another highlight was the fully stocked wooden playhouse complete with puppets, a pretend grill/hot dog stand, mailbox and letters, and a doorbell. It was a great tool for teaching me to share with others and take turns . . . and a few other kids who needed to practice those same skills!

On the Dry Erase wall, I tried out every color of marker and then had a blast erasing my own work.

Here is the famous "bunny house" where I spent a good portion of my time. I also took the bunnies to several other places in the room as if to "show them around" Amaya Papaya.

All in all, this was a great place to play and I hope mom will take me back!
